The Stables Tearoom

One of the delights of Hopetoun is a visit to the Stables Tearoom, a clever and sensitive restoration of the 18th Century Adam Stables transformed into a traditional tearoom complete with table service and a high quality contemporary menu. Only a few miles from Edinburgh, you can escape to another world and soak up the timeless atmosphere within a spectacular setting. The tearoom is open from 11am until 4.30pm daily during visitor season and is perfect for meeting up with friends, family and colleagues who will appreciate an impeccable standard of catering and service.

Home Cooked and Freshly Prepared Menu

The ingredients we use in our cooking are important to us. Food provenance in the form of local, Scottish, good welfare and ethically traded ingredients is a key element to ensure we are providing fabulous food quality with minimal environmental impact and are supporting the local economy.

Hopetoun Adams Stables Tearoom Food Preperation

We love celebrating what Scotland has to offer, and our Chefs prepare our menu using seasonally Scottish ingredients wherever possible. The eggs in our baking are Scottish free range and we’re proud to use Graham’s Family Diary milk, butter & cream throughout our menu. Our ever popular Club Sandwich features Ramsay of Carluke’s smoked bacon and you really should try our home-made Cullen Skink soup – a Scottish classic which is a firm favourite on our menu. When the seasons allow, you’ll find Hopetoun House Garden herbs as well as apples from Lady Hopetoun’s orchard featuring on the menu.

We do hope you enjoy your visit here today, and agree that our menu reflects some of the best Scotland has to offer!
