DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to announce the first solo exhibition from Edinburgh-based painter and poet the Selkie Stone.\n\n\n\nHer work is deeply inspired by the nature and folklore of her Scottish home\, balancing light and dark through rich colour and visual storytelling. This collection takes you from the intricate treasures of the Scottish coastline\, to the wild landscapes of rural Fife\, and even into the deer-filled woodlands of Hopetoun House.\n\n\n\nCreated largely within the span of a single month\, the exhibition is an intimate time capsule of immediate inspiration — a glimpse into the beginnings of a career rooted in curiosity\, imagination\, and myth.\n\n\n\nRaised in the wilds of the Lake District and now based in Edinburgh\, she draws on her love of hiking\, gothic literature\, and local folklore to weave magical narratives into her oil and watercolour works.\n\n\n\nViewers are invited to step into these worlds and find their own stories within the characters and landscapes she paints.\n\n\n\nFind out more about the Selkie Stone on her Instagram Page \n\nExhibition runs from Thursday 18th – Sunday 28th September 2025 in The Outer Room and is included in the ticket price.\n11am until 4.00pm each day.Closed Tuesday and Wednesday each week

DESCRIPTION:Botanical Artist\, Pauline Stevenson will be exhibiting her work in the Outer Room at Hopetoun House. \nPauline is currently a member of the U.K. Coloured Pencil Society\, The Botanical Society of Scotland and the Botanical Art Lovers Group. She has been a member of the Scottish Society of Botanical Artists for several years now. The society aim to provide a forum to share knowledge and expertise in all aspects of botanical art.
