DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to welcome back Selkie Stone for her second exhibition at Hopetoun House. \nThe Silent Kingdom is a visual celebration of nature\, folklore and the search for joy. Through painting and writing\, the exhibition explores our relationship with the natural world as a source of resilience\, wonder and imagination. From swirling skies to deep green forests\, the work evokes a magical realism inspired by Scotland’s wild landscapes and rich storytelling traditions. \nAn Edinburgh-based painter and poet\, Selkie Stone draws inspiration from Gothic literature\, local folklore and the delicate balance between light and dark. Families can follow an autumn-themed trail\, discover more about the natural world at Hopetoun and enjoy a selection of seasonal crafts throughout the day. \nAutumn Trail & Seasonal Crafts \nVisit the Education Room to collect your autumn trail and take part in a range of seasonal craft activities. \nThen set out to explore the Grounds\, discovering the sights\, sounds and colours of autumn along the way. Whether you are enjoying a leisurely family walk\, getting creative with the children or simply making the most of a crisp autumn day in the countryside\, there is plenty to enjoy at Hopetoun. \nOptional Guided Walks \nFor those wishing to discover more about Hopetoun’s natural heritage\, two guided walks will also take place throughout the day. \nFungi Walk | 10am–12pm **Sold Out**\nJoin our guided walk through the Grounds and discover the fascinating world of fungi\, from familiar woodland varieties to some of the more unusual species found through out the Grounds. \nTree Walk | 2pm–4pm\nExplore the trees of Hopetoun and learn more about the different species that form an important part of this historical designed landscape. \nBook here \nPlease note: Separate tickets are required for the guided walks\, which are additional bookable activities.
