Hear some interesting facts\, folklore and uses but please note\, we will not be collecting for the pot. \nYou can also enjoy the rest of the majestic grounds with nature trails and scenic walks before and after your tour. Booking strictly limited to 12 people only. \nPlease note that The Stables Kitchen is not yet open\, but you are welcome to bring a picnic. \nIn line with the Scottish Government guidelines all visits to the Hopetoun Grounds must now be booked in advance\, therefore we sadly cannot accommodate anyone turning up on the day without a pre-booked ticket. \nYou are welcome to arrive anytime from 11am and stay as long as you like. \nPlease meet the ranger in the car park (beside the ticket kiosk) at 12.50pm for a safety briefly. The walk will start at 1pm. Sturdy footwear recommended. \nAccess requirements\nFor Sat Nav please use EH30 9RW which will take you into South Queensferry to Farquhar Terrace. DESCRIPTION:‘After a very successful exhibition last year the members of Ferry art club are delighted to be returning to Hopetoun House for a second year\, from September 15th until September 23rd to exhibit our new work. \nFerry art club is comprised of a small group of local people who meet on a Tuesday evening in Rosebery Hall in South Queensferry. We use a variety of media and have diverse styles and enjoy the social aspects of belonging to a club. DESCRIPTION:Heartwood 2017 exhibition featuring new work responding to Hopetoun House by \nKyra Clegg\nFanny Lam Christie\nSu Grierson\nMartine Foltier Pugh \nThe four artists have installed artwork throughout the house\, the garden and in the gallery. They include sculptures\, artist books\, collages\, drawings\, video and sound work. \nKyra Clegg’s installations respond to the twofold idea of space as being both private and public in Hopetoun House. Fanny Christie looks at the connections with nature in their architecture and surrounding grounds. Su presents the theme of Visible-Invisible\, with works relating to degradation damage\, restoration and conservation of objects and materials\, while Martine has created a series of alternative books in the library. \nEntry to the gallery is free\, while for the house ticket is required as normal.
