Jean is a painter and Ian makes ceramics.\nTheir work has been shown at Hopetoun House for many years\, and they live and work on the Estate. This year’s exhibition will present new decorative and functional works for the contemporary domestic interior.\nExhibition runs from Thursday 7th August until Monday 8th September in The Outer Room and is included in the ticket price.\n11am until 4.00pm each day.Closed Tuesday and Wednesday each week

This collection takes you from the intricate treasures of the Scottish coastline\, to the wild landscapes of rural Fife\, and even into the deer-filled woodlands of Hopetoun House.\n\n\n\nCreated largely within the span of a single month\, the exhibition is an intimate time capsule of immediate inspiration — a glimpse into the beginnings of a career rooted in curiosity\, imagination\, and myth.\n\n\n\nRaised in the wilds of the Lake District and now based in Edinburgh\, she draws on her love of hiking\, gothic literature\, and local folklore to weave magical narratives into her oil and watercolour works.\n\n\n\nViewers are invited to step into these worlds and find their own stories within the characters and landscapes she paints.\n\n\n\nFind out more about the Selkie Stone on her Instagram Page \n\nExhibition runs from Thursday 18th – Sunday 28th September 2025 in The Outer Room and is included in the ticket price.\n11am until 4.00pm each day.Closed Tuesday and Wednesday each week
