We are a small group of local people who meet on a Tuesday evening in Rosebery Hall in South Queensferry. We use a variety of media and have diverse styles and enjoy the social aspects of belonging to a club. DESCRIPTION:Margaret Denholm is a local artist painting primarily contemporary Scottish seascapes and landscapes with a smattering of floral still life work. Although Margaret lives and works in the Central Belt of Scotland she regularly spends time in Argyll\, inspired by the colourful\, lochs\, mountains and beaches. She has always had a love for art\, craft and photography but in recent years has concentrated on her painting. Fanny Christie looks at the connections with nature in their architecture and surrounding grounds. Su presents the theme of Visible-Invisible\, with works relating to degradation damage\, restoration and conservation of objects and materials\, while Martine has created a series of alternative books in the library. \nEntry to the gallery is free\, while for the house ticket is required as normal.

DESCRIPTION:Local South Queensferry artists Ian Henderson and Jean Hall\, who live on Hopetoun Estate\, along with Esther Cohen\, an East Lothian based artist\, will present a brand new exhibition in the China Room from 02nd August until 15th August. \n  \nThe show will feature new work in painting\, printmaking and ceramics. This will be their second summer show at Hopetoun House and the new work will feature landmarks from the wider Hopetoun Estate\, various Japanese themed images\, decorative and functional ceramics as well as scenes of the Forth river. \n  \nThe show will be open from 10am until 4pm each day and all artworks will be available for sale. DESCRIPTION:This Saturday Hopetoun House is the venue for a third-party event – the Fly Open Air Festival \nTo minimise traffic for our neighbours\, many of the attendees will arrive between noon and five pm by bus via the Abercorn Road beyond Newton. Taxis and drop-offs will be signed to enter via the Banks Road on the A904 to the East of Newton. All traffic exits via the western end of the Abercorn Road back on to the A904. The event closes at 10pm and there are no fireworks. The Shore road should not be used by attendees on Saturday\, though will be used for set-up and staff vehicles. For this reason\, and due to ongoing forestry work in the surrounding estate we advise that this road isn’t used as pedestrian access by South Queensferry residents attending the festival. We advise that you arrive by vehicle\, following the event signage. \nPlease be aware that the House\, Grounds and Tearoom will all be closed on Saturday\, though we look forward to welcoming you back as normal on Sunday.
