DESCRIPTION:Exhibition  \nThe Carriage Room\, Hopetoun House \nFriday 8th July – Monday 18th July 2016 \nOpening times: 11am – 4.30pm each day \nThree well-known Scottish artists will present a rich and decorative exhibition of their paintings\, prints and ceramic works in the Carriage Room at Hopetoun House. \nArtists Jean Hall\, Esther Cohen and Ian Henderson have brought together a visually stunning range of works that spans the disciplines of traditional pottery and ceramics\, printmaking and painting. \nJean Hall is well known in Scotland for her contemplative oriental-inspired paintings that feature rich still life arrangements and calm figurative compositions. \n  \nEsther Cohen works in ceramics\, print and photography and will present a series of hand-made tiles and prints that explore her love of the fluid Scottish sky. \n  \nIan Henderson is a potter and ceramic artist who produces stoneware and porcelain bowls around a distinctly oriental theme. Brightly decorated bowls\, plates\, jars and jugs will complement this unique collaboration. \n  \nEntry to this exhibition is free.

Many\, such as stone and timber\, have been used since earliest human habitation in Scotland. Others\, such as pantiles and iron\, came into general use in more recent times. \nFor the majority of our traditionally constructed buildings it is the use of these materials\, in combination with one another\, that has created the beautiful and diverse nature of Scotland’s build heritage: stone\, lime and pantiles come together to form distinctive buildings in our east coast towns and villages; timber\, clay\, stone and thatch are combined to form the blackhouses so distinctive of the Western Isles. \nIt is hoped that this exhibition\, based on the “Building Scotland” book\, will give an insight into the diverse materials that have literally been the building blocks of our traditional villages and cities throughout Scotland \n

SUMMARY:Farm Shop Christmas Shopping Evening
DESCRIPTION:Come along to Hopetoun Farm Shop on Thursday 19th November for a fabulous late night shopping evening with free foodie samples\, special guests and 10% off your Christmas shopping.* \nChocolates handmade by Wicked\nEnjoy complimentary mulled wine\, mince pies and shortbread whilst you browse the shop’s huge selection of award winning food and drink\, most of which is Scottish\, plus locally reared butchery produce from the Hopetoun farm.  There will also be the chance to sample some of the Estate’s award winning turkey which you can pre-order for Christmas dinner plus tasters of the butcher’s famous steak pies filled with Hopetoun Aberdeen Angus beef. \n  \nChef and author Christopher Trotter\nThere will also be guest appearances on the night including the Linties – a local children’s choir from Linlithgow who’ll be entertaining shoppers with carols from 6.30pm until 7pm.  Also playing a starring role will be local food writer and chef Christopher Trotter. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to offer availability for individual guns to come along on one of our Simulated Game Days. We usually take a team of 6 or more\, but if you are a single gun or know just a couple of people who would like to come along\, we have a few dates where you can join others to make a team. \nA simulated day consists of arrival on the estate for breakfast rolls followed by 3 drives in the morning\, a 2 course lunch and a further 2 drives in the afternoon.
