DESCRIPTION:The 2014 Gillespie Macandrew Hopetoun Horse Trials takes place between Thursday 25th June and Sunday 28th June 2015 at Hopetoun House.\n\nThe event will offer a host of activities each day including Shetland Grand National\, Pony Club Games and Jumping\, British Show jumping Competitions\, Lurcher racing and an array of shopping trade stands. DESCRIPTION:Explore the links between three of West Lothian’s most historic sites with a guided walk between Hopetoun\, Blackness Castle and the House of the Binns. Enjoy a lovely summer’s walk\, spot local wildlife and hear about these three places of interest with your guides from The National Trust\, Historic Scotland and Hopetoun Ranger Services. What a great day out! Bring lunch. \nPlease be aware this walk will cover approx. 5 miles with rough underfoot conditions\, fence crossings and requires a good level of fitness. \nCost: £5 per person (not suitable for children). \nBooking is essential. SUMMARY:Farm Shop Family Barbecue
DESCRIPTION:It’s officially BBQ season but if you’re more of a back seat griller and prefer someone else doing the cooking then pop along to Hopetoun Farm Shop for their annual summer BBQ. \nWith an assortment of delicious produce cooked fresh from the Estate there will be also lots of free tastings from some of the shops favourite suppliers and plenty of free activities for the kids. \nKicking off at 12pm the shop will be serving delicious Aberdeen Angus steak burgers\, handmade sausages and venison all sourced from the surrounding estate and farms plus an assortment of soft drinks and local ales. \nActivities for the family range from arts\, crafts and facepainting plus a chance to meet some of the farm residents (both human and animal!). Budding artists young and old can add their designs to the huge outdoor mural being painted on the day outside the shop to celebrate Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink. \nEdinburgh patisserie Zukr\, Fife producers Chillilicious and Dunfermline brewery De Brus are just some of the artisan Scottish suppliers offering free tastings on the day to highlight their new ranges being introduced at Hopetoun Farm Shop this summer. \nThe BBQ\, tastings and activities run from 12pm-4pm on Saturday 13th June. Paints\, brushes and aprons will be supplied for those wishing to add to the shop’s outdoor mural.
