Tree-mendous Walk in the Grounds of Hopetoun House – Fully Booked

October 18, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)
Every Sunday in October

ALL OCTOBER DATES ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED
Sundays in October – 1pm to 3pm

Organised by national garden tourism group Discover Scottish Gardens and supported by VisitScotland, the Scottish Tree Festival returns for its third year.

Hopetoun is closed to the public in October, but this exclusive 2 hour Ranger-led walk will guide you through the nature and history of some of the specimen trees found throughout Hopetoun’s designed landscape. Look out for wildlife whilst learning about the historical use, folklore and natural history of the trees within the Hopetoun 144 acres. Bookings strictly limited to 12 people only. You must only book tickets for individuals from the same household (max 6).

Tickets are on sale now for each Sunday in October 2020. Booking for further dates to be available depending on demand.

Tickets must be booked in advance. Please click here to book your tickets on this walk.

In line with the Scottish Government guidelines all visits to the Hopetoun Grounds must now be booked in advance, therefore we sadly cannot accommodate anyone turning up on the day without a pre-booked ticket.

Please meet the ranger in the car park (beside the ticket kiosk) at 1pm for a safety briefing.  The walk will start from there. Sturdy footwear recommended.

Arrival

Our staff will welcome you on arrival at the electric gates on the driveway leading to the House between 12.30pm and 12.55pm. If you arrive on foot or by bike please proceed to the admissions staff member at the gate, keeping a safe 2 metre distance from other visitors and staff. If you arrive by car, please stay in your car, and wait to be called forward. On arrival please tell us the name of the person who made the booking so we can check you off our list. Please bring your ticket with you and show at a distance. To minimise contact our staff will not take tickets from you.

Please make sure you have investigated the details of your journey before you set off as it will not be possible to change the gate times. Arrivals after 12.55pm will unfortunately not gain access.

Meeting Point

Please then meet the ranger in the car park (beside the ticket kiosk) at 1pm for a safety briefing.  The walk will start from there.

Physical distancing

Once you have been admitted, please follow the one-way routes in place and please follow the government guidelines on physical distancing at all times for your own safety and for the safety of others. Our staff will be monitoring visitors and may intervene if they feel that physical distancing is not being observed, but we’re hoping this won’t be needed and that everyone will play their part.

Toilets

There will be no toilets available for use during the two hour walk.

Dogs

Dogs are not permitted on Ranger-led walks, for the comfort of the rest of the participants.

Food & Drink

The Stables Kitchen will not be open.
