Outlander at Hopetoun

Hopetoun has played host to 18 filming locations throughout Seasons 1, 2, 3 & 7b of Outlander — and for 2026, we’ve added new scenes to the tour for returning fans to discover.

From ornate Georgian interiors to sweeping Scottish landscapes, Hopetoun’s architecture allowed it to convincingly transform into multiple countries and estates across different time periods.
Throughout the series, Hopetoun has portrayed a wide variety of settings, including:

– The Duke of Sandringham’s Residence
– Jared’s Townhouse – Jamie & Claire’s Paris Residence
– The Hawkins Estate France – Mary Hawkins Uncle Silas Residence
– Façade of Maison de Mademoiselle Elise
– Lord Dunsany Residence – Helwater, England
– Façade of the Ellesmere Estate
– Harold ‘Hal’ Grey’s Westminster Office (New for 2026)

Visitors can explore many of the locations used during filming. Knowledgeable guides within Hopetoun House are happy to help direct you to specific scenes shot inside the house, and visitor maps highlight the external filming locations throughout the grounds.
