As avid fans of the beloved TV series Outlander, we’re thrilled to welcome fellow enthusiasts to experience the magic of the show first-hand at Hopetoun. Nestled in the heart of Scotland, our historic estate has served as a backdrop for numerous iconic scenes throughout Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Hopetoun House & Grounds is now closed to the public for 2024. We look forward to seeing you in 2025.

Step into the Red Drawing Room, where the opulent home of the Duke of Sandringham was meticulously recreated for Series 1. Marvel at the Sea Trail and West Lawn, where dramatic duels and sword fights unfolded amidst stunning natural beauty. And don’t forget to wander through the charming courtyard behind the Stables Tearoom, transformed into a bustling Parisian street for Series 2.

Midhope Castle – Outlander’s Lallybroch
Last day to visit Midhope in 2024 will be Saturday 30th November
But the adventure doesn’t end there. Venture further into the sprawling estate to discover Midhope Castle, the real-life inspiration for the fictional Lallybroch, Jamie Fraser’s ancestral home. If you have booked online, please bring your email receipt or show your mobile to one of our members of staff at the cabin.
You and your party will not be able to access Midhope Castle without a ticket.
Your ticket allows access to the castle grounds only, the drive leading to the castle, the archway, the courtyard and of course the castle steps. There is also access to a countryside walk along the Midhope Burn.
