Join us on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September for a Family Weekend full of fun, activities, and discovery as we close the 2025 season in style at Scotland’s finest stately home.

🦄 Meet the Unicorns!
We’re delighted to welcome back Lunar Eclipse therapy ponies and unicorns.

Say hello and meet these magical creatures.

For just £5 in cash, enjoy a unicorn walk along Lime Avenue (available 12pm–4pm).
👉 Proceeds support Lunar Eclipse’s wonderful community work.

🎭 Face Painting & Glitter Tattoos
Event Buddies Scotland will be adding some sparkle with face painting and glitter tattoos ( extra charge applies). The team will be with us on both Saturday & Sunday.

🗺️ Family Trail – Pick up a sheet in the Education Room and hunt for animal clues around the Grounds.

🌿 Ranger Centre – Meet Ranger Emma and her volunteer team to discover the life of a countryside ranger.

🎨 Crafts in the Education Room – Creative fun for all ages, available 12pm–4pm.

🍰 The Stables Kitchen – Tuck into homemade savoury dishes and sweet treats, served all day.

🏛️ Explore the Main House – Upgrade your ticket for a special tour of this architectural gem.

Hopetoun is clearly sign posted from Glasgow and Edinburgh, we recommend you travel towards South Queensferry and follow the brown tourist signs.

Alternatively, for Sat Nav please use post code EH30 9RW which will direct you to Farquhar Terrace in South Queensferry, from here it is a straight road from this point for about 1.5 miles.

Please note that there is no access to Hopetoun House from the Bo’ness road A904 (even though your Sat Nav might tell you otherwise).

Car parking at Hopetoun is free of charge for visitors with a House & Grounds or Grounds only ticket, with the exception of large public events where additional charges may apply.
