Victorian Day at Hopetoun

Travel back in time and discover what life was like at Hopetoun during the Victorian era as part of our popular Family Discovery Days programme.
This engaging, hands-on event invites families to explore how people lived and worked in the House and Grounds over a century ago. Try traditional crafts and games in the Education Room, have a go at butter churning, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of learning and discovery.
Step inside the House to experience a Victorian-themed self-led trail, where house guides and volunteers, in period attire, help bring history to life. Outside, follow a history trail through the Grounds and uncover more about daily life all those years ago.
On the day, our Ranger will also lead a special guided walk through the Grounds for 20 visitors, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

- 🎨 Victorian crafts and traditional games in the Education Room

- 🏰 A Victorian-themed self-led trail through the House*
- 🌿 A history trail through the Grounds
*The self-led House trail is available with a House & Grounds ticket only.
All other activities are included with your admission ticket. Visitors can choose between a Grounds Only ticket or a House & Grounds ticket, which also includes access to the historic House.
