Hopetoun is clearly sign posted from Glasgow and Edinburgh, we recommend you travel towards South Queensferry and follow the brown tourist signs.
Alternatively, for Sat Nav please use post code EH30 9RW which will direct you to Farquhar Terrace in South Queensferry, from here it is a straight road from this point for about 1.5 miles.
Please note that there is no access to Hopetoun House from the Bo’ness road A904 (even though your Sat Nav might tell you otherwise).
Car parking at Hopetoun is free of charge with the exception of large public events where additional charges may apply.

The Hopetoun House Education Team has once again been awarded the Sandford Award, a fantastic achievement. The Sandford Award is an independently judged, quality assured assessment of education programmes at heritage sites, museums, archives and collections across the British Isles. Hopetoun previously received this award in 2010, 2015 and have once again proven themselves to the judging panel.
Midhope Access Restrictions
Due to Midhope Castle's location on a private part of our Estate we often have to prohibit access to visitors due to filming, farming operations, estate activities or large public events in the surrounding area.
We only refuse access in the interests of public safety or for security reasons. Even when access is permitted we urge you to be aware this is a working area.
