Hopetoun Education Team Receive Sandford Award
The Hopetoun House Education Team have once again been awarded the Sandford Award, a fantastic achievement. The Sandford Award is an independently judged, quality assured assessment of education programmes at heritage sites, museums, archives and collections across the British Isles. Hopetoun previously received this award in 2010 and have once again proven themselves to the judging panel.
The Victorian Workshop for Primary Schools at Hopetoun House fully supports the Curriculum for Excellence and provides a memorable and engaging learning experience for pupils. The enthusiastic team ensure that every child has an active and important role to play and this immersive session brings time travel as close as possible, with pupils transformed in to Victorian servants charged with managing this grand stately home. The learning activities on-site, key photo opportunities during the visit and the take-away resources provide excellent material for follow-up activities back at school. Pupils leave with a much clearer understand of life in the Victorian period.
We hope you will all join us in congratulating the team for their hard work and success. They deserve it!
