Snowdrop Weekend takes place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February 2026.
Hopetoun is open 10am–4pm, with last entry at 3pm.
Yes. Hopetoun House is a seasonal visitor attraction, so the Snowdrop Weekend is a special chance to visit House and Grounds during the winter months. Hopetoun reopens for the main season on Friday 3rd April 2026.
There are three ticket options: Grounds Only – Snowdrop Visit, House & Grounds – Snowdrop Visit, and Ranger-Led Snowdrop Guided Walk (separate ticket).
Booking online is recommended for all tickets. Guided walks are very popular and must be pre-booked.

Ranger-Led Guided Walk

Entry to the Grounds for a self-guided visit with a snowdrop focus, plus access to the Grounds Snowdrop Trail and snowdrop-themed crafts for younger visitors.
Entry to both the House and the Grounds, plus access to Snowdrop Trails in the House and Grounds and snowdrop-themed crafts for younger visitors.
Guided walks run twice daily: 10:30am–11:30pm and 2:30pm–3:30pm and must be pre-booked.
A Ranger-led walk plus access to the Grounds afterwards, so visitors can continue exploring at their own pace.
Yes. Visitors can upgrade to visit the House (upgrade tickets can be purchased in the Front Hall, subject to availability).
Our Hopetoun Ranger shares snowdrop history, folklore and symbolism, with opportunities to learn about rare varieties such as Galanthus plicatus and Flore Pleno.
The terrain is mostly flat, but winter conditions can be variable. Suitable footwear and warm clothing are recommended.
There are two self-guided trails: a House Snowdrop Trail and a Grounds Snowdrop Trail. They’re designed to make the visit a fun learning experience for our younger visitors.
Yes. Snowdrop-themed crafts for younger visitors will be available in the Education Room, alongside the trails and a chance for some outdoor exploring.
Yes. The Stables Kitchen will be open throughout Snowdrop Weekend for warming drinks and tasty treats, including seasonal specials such as Snowdrop Scones.
Please dress for winter weather: warm layers, waterproofs, and comfortable, weather-appropriate footwear.
The Snowdrop Weekend will run in most weather. If conditions are extreme, updates will be shared via our website and social media channels
