BP Training Exercise Hosted by Estate

This month Hopetoun was delighted to welcome a large team from BP for a fascinating training exercise on the Estate.

This training exercise was for local BP contractors who would be used in any event of a pollution incident. One of the pre-identified response sites which could be impacted by a pipeline spill is located here at Hopetoun.

The exercise involved the deployment of several oil deflection and collection booms plus training sessions for oil skimmers. At no point was any oil put into the burn.

It was a very interesting exercise to witness and we are glad we could assist on this occasion. Hopefully we won’t need to see the team again unless it’s just for training!
