Explore the links between three of West Lothian's most historic sites with a guided walk between Hopetoun, Blackness Castle and the House of the Binns. Enjoy a lovely summer's walk, spot local wildlife and hear about these three places of interest with your guides from The National Trust, Historic Scotland and Hopetoun Ranger Services.
The Gillespie Macandrew Horse Trials offer a host of activities each day including Shetland Grand National, Pony Club Games and Jumping, British Show jumping Competitions, Lurcher racing and an array of shopping trade stands. The event is a great chance to see some of the country's top riders competing at Hopetoun.

Sign your little nature detectives up for five days of fun exploring the grounds of Hopetoun House. 10-1pm every day, they will join the rangers and find out about mini-beasts, mammals, birds and other wildlife through games, activities and fun surveys. Each day will have a different theme, ranging from a Minibeast safari to exploring the seashore.

As the sun sets on a summers day, we go wandering in the grounds to look for Hopetoun’s nocturnal residents and visitors. Bring a torch as the darker it gets, the more we explore looking for bats, moths, owls and anything else that prefers the protection of nigh time hunting.

Taking place on the last Sunday of the month, the ranger led walk will lead you through the nature and history of Hopetoun's designed landscape and serves to compliment the tour offered inside of the House. Look out for wildlife whilst enjoying the specimen trees and plants of the designed landscape.
