The Hopetoun House Education Team has once again been awarded the Sandford Award, a fantastic achievement. The Sandford Award is an independently judged, quality assured assessment of education programmes at heritage sites, museums, archives and collections across the British Isles. Hopetoun previously received this award in 2010, 2015 and have once again proven themselves to the judging panel.
Midhope Access Restrictions
Due to Midhope Castle's location on a private part of our Estate we often have to prohibit access to visitors due to filming, farming operations, estate activities or large public events in the surrounding area.
We only refuse access in the interests of public safety or for security reasons. Even when access is permitted we urge you to be aware this is a working area.
We are delighted to welcome visitors back to Hopetoun House from Saturday 8th August. Come and explore the House and Grounds, open 11am–5pm (last admission 4pm). We are hosting a wedding on Saturday 8th August, so The Stables Kitchen will be closed for the day. You're very welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in our beautiful Grounds instead. The Stables Kitchen will reopen as normal on Sunday 9th August.
