The Wider Estate

Outwith the formal stately home and grounds there are a further 6,500 acres of magnificent countryside with drives, lanes, forest walks, farmland, woodland, coastal areas and historic buildings, monuments and ruins. There are also several shale bings which can provide an “otherworld” setting of deserted, inhospitable landscape. The Hopetoun team has extensive experience working with film, television and commercial companies, who have been delighted with Hopetoun as a location.

Hopetoun is clearly sign posted from Glasgow and Edinburgh, we recommend you travel towards South Queensferry and follow the brown tourist signs.

Alternatively, for Sat Nav please use post code EH30 9RW which will direct you to Farquhar Terrace in South Queensferry, from here it is a straight road from this point for about 1.5 miles.

Please note that there is no access to Hopetoun House from the Bo’ness road A904 (even though your Sat Nav might tell you otherwise).

Car parking at Hopetoun is free of charge with the exception of large public events where additional charges may apply.
